Issues and Priorities

Climate change requires bold action to protect our planet and our children’s way of life. As a millennial & the youngest Democratic parent in Congress, Jake has a fierce sense of urgency to invest in clean energy and to ensure clean air, clean water, and clean soil. 

Jake strongly supported the Inflation Reduction Act, the biggest & boldest climate action & clean energy investment in history, in his first term in Congress. Since then, he’s been partnering with public & private officials to advance clean-energy solutions, from fission & fusion to offshore wind to hot-rock geothermal, while building environmental resilience through civil engineering projects throughout the district. 

Jake has also been a strong proponent of the land use & transportation changes that reduce cities’ carbon footprint and improve walkability, like Complete Streets policies for cycling & walking; liberalizing zoning for multi-family & mixed-use development; and transit improvements.
